Empire, Power, and People with Andrew Gavin Marshall- Episode 5

Fiscal Austerity or Social Genocide?

In light of the current global economic crisis, there is a question that should be asked and discussed in regards to what our leaders are telling us is required to solve the crisis: what is fiscal austerity? We are told that "fiscal austerity" measures are required to create economic growth and prosperity, that there will be pain for a while, but it's all for the 'greater good' of the economy. This episode breaks down these measures into what the specific policies of "austerity" are, what justifications are given for each one, and what the actual effect upon the population each measure has. Through this analysis, it becomes clear that when we are told, "fiscal austerity", we should hear, "social genocide."

  1. Greetings,
I am told that I don’t have access to “Empire , power and people” Episode 5? I am a subscriber, am I not? Am I missing something here that I am not aware of?…Please help

  2. Same here. This may have something to do with the recent changes to their membership functionality. I got an e-mail stating that I was sent a unsubscribe e-mail by mistake.

  3. Dear Andrew,
Thank you for your inspiring in depth examinations and explanations of the world situation. I have heartily enjoyed every episode.
I have enjoyed it even more since you changed your format and started to ad lib a bit more as opposed to reading from what seemed to be a prepared text.
I think this helps to bring out your very nice “personable” radio voice.
I also listened to you on the West Coast radio show with those loudmouth Americans who tended to drown you out as they kept interrupting you and stealing your response time. I guess you are too polite to be on with pushy Americans. Your message came across fine just the same but I almost felt like “you were throwing your pearls to the swine”. I trust the audience was able to separate the wheat from the chaff.
Looking forward to the next episode. Keep up the good work. The world needs Truth seekers like you.
    All the best,
